Overview
Sometimes a donor may want to increase or decrease the value of their ongoing Regular Giving / Recurring Payment. Payments2Us allows you to safely update the donation amount while preserving the donor’s schedule and payment history.
Updating the amount takes effect from the next scheduled payment, unless otherwise adjusted.
How to Update the Donation Amount
- Open the donor’s Recurring Payment record in Salesforce.
- Click Edit.
- Update the Amount field to the new donation amount.
- (Optional) Adjust the Next Payment Date if the change should take effect on a future cycle. See FAQ How to Pause or Put on Hold a Regular Gift
- Save the record.
Important Notes
- Updating the amount does not modify or reprocess previous payments.
- If the recurring setup uses Direct Debit, bank rules may require notifying the donor before increasing amounts.
- If the payment method is Credit Card, ensure the stored token is valid. Update via Update Card Details if needed.
- The next billing cycle will automatically charge the new amount.
