The Hidden Upsell step allows you to encourage one-time donors to switch to a recurring donation by showing them a tailored message at the right moment in the donation flow.
In Studio, you can fully customize the heading and body content of this step to match your organisation’s voice, messaging, and campaign goals.
This article explains how to safely customize the body text template, including dynamic values and formatting options.
Default body text template
When you enable the Hidden Upsell step, Studio provides a default body template to help you get started:

Would you consider spreading it out as a monthly donation of <b>${SuggestedAmount}</b> per month?
Monthly giving helps us plan ahead and provide ongoing support where it's needed most.
Plus, over time, your total impact could be even greater.You can edit this template directly in Studio.
Editing static text
To change the wording:
- Simply type over any text in the body editor.
- You can rewrite sentences, add new paragraphs, or remove content entirely.
Using dynamic values
Studio supports dynamic placeholders that automatically insert donation values selected by the donor.
Available dynamic placeholders

Example
Your one-time gift of ${OnceOffAmount} could become a monthly gift of just ${SuggestedAmount}.⚠️ Important:
- Dynamic placeholders must be entered exactly as shown (including brackets and capitalization) to work correctly.
- For organizations supporting multiple currencies, dynamic values automatically include the currency selected by the donor in the first step of the form.
Formatting your content
Bold text
Wrap content with:
<b>Bold text</b>Italic text
Wrap content with:
<i>Italic text</i>Line breaks and blank lines
You can create paragraphs and control spacing by using <br>. If you want extra spacing (a visible blank line) between paragraphs, just using multiple <br> tags.

- Do not use “Enter” as break. Although it looks good on preview, this doesn't work on actual page.
